An article being an overview on the investigation conducted by the Institute of National Remembrance in the matter of the pogrom of Jews in Kielce on July 4, 1946 („Kielce Pogrom”). The author presents the genesis and history of the investigation since 1991, the most important motifs and source material collected by prosecutors. The matter concerning discontinuation of the investigation by the Institute of National Remembrance in 2004 is discussed separately. The article is an introduction to the selection of documents edited in form of a collective work
